Electrical Products

We can supply and / or install all sorts of electrical products for your home or business.

NEW - Clipsal Push Button Universal Dimmer with infared Remote control - very handy for the bedroom and other areas where remote control / dimming of lights is required  (Note - we also have dimmable compact flourescent bulbs that are compatible with this dimmer).

Unless there is a superior product available, our standard range of power products are made by Clipsal, including indoor and outdoor (weatherproof) power points, light switches and isolators.

We prefer to install Airflow Ceiling Fans and Exhaust Fans, due to their reliability and ease of fitting, saving both time and money.

Electrical Products we supply and fit

All types of lighting, including recessed down-lights, sensor lights, fluorescent lights, heater-fan-lights, industrial task lighting, emergency lighting and exit lights can be catered for.

All of our Grid Connected Solar Power Components are sourced from committed local suppliers who provide the highest quality equipment with exceptional after sales support.

Racking -

We have two options for racking (depending on technical requirements) which are Alzone which is Australian made,  or Clenergy which is Chinese made.   Both carry  a 10 Year Warranty and written engineer wind load certification, giving you peace of mind in all weather conditions.

All Racking systems that we use ensure adequate cooling of the PV modules (cooling is important to reduce the losses which occur when crystalline panels heat up during operation). This slightly raised profile also helps to allow leaves to blow through underneath the panels rather than build up which may cause a fire hazard.

Alzone Easy Rail (shown at right) is a one piece extrusion, offering a quick and durable installation.

Alzone Premium Rail (shown at right) is height adjustable, to allow for uneven roof surfaces and is used for tilted arrays or in conjunction with tile brackets which mount directly to the roof joists.

We use a high temperature (100C service temp) neoprene / nitrile / rubber gasket between the Aluminium feet and your roof material, offering a weatherproof seal and galvanic isolation between the dissimilar metals.  This gasket has excellent resistance to fungi, weather, chemicals, UV, oxidation and is superior to the sealing tapes supplied as standard by Alzone.

We use Buildex fasteners with a neoprene seal as standard on our installations, their Class 4 corrosion resistance ensures a long service life.

Refer to Alzone's website   for more information on racking.

Refer to Clenergy's website  for more information on their racking.

We use Wiley WEEB washers for earthing PV array frames - these are purpose designed anodise piercing washers, that provide a gas tight, durable earth connection between array frames and PV module frames.   WEEBs have been endurance tested and shown to be far superior than any other PV module frame earthing solution currently available.

Panels -

We recommended Kyocera & Q-cells PV modules which have proven their reliability and output performance in our harsh Australian conditions outperforming many other "industry standard" modules in an apples for apples comparison at the Australian Government's Solar Centre in Alice Springs.   Please contact us for prices.

Very High Quality Q-cells modules - see Q-cells website

High Quality Hyundai HiS-M220MF  220W Hyundai modules  - specifications

All modules that we use are on the CEC approved module listhave at least 20 year Power Warranty, low manufacturing tolerances (less than  -3% ), 3 x integrated bypass diodes, and a tough 3.2mm tempered glass anti-glare face.

Yes, there are cheaper modules around, however they have less power yield than Trina, Silex and Hyundai and Kyocera at operating temperatures.  Click this link to view a Yield Comparison.pdf between CEEG, Suntech, Kyocera, Trina, Silex and Hyundai PV modules.   Kyocera's polycrystalline modules have a better power temp co-efficient than some competitor's monocrystalline modules.

Inverters -

Depending on the installation requirements and availability, we use German made SMA Sunny Boy inverters   or

Italian made Power-One Aurora inverters.

Due to the high humidity and salt air on the Sunshine coast we use IP65 inverters with heat sink cooling.

SMA Sunny Boy have very high efficiency,  wide DC input parameters and are able to be mounted both indoors or outdoors.

They carry a 5 year warranty which can be upgraded to 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 years for an additional charge anytime within the initial warranty period.

For a truly expandable system, we recommend Power-One Aurora Inverter's which combine the widest MPP (maximum power point tracking 90 - 580 VDC) voltage window available.  They have very high efficiency,  wide DC input parameters and are able to be mounted both indoors or outdoors.

They are Italian made, and their Australian Distributor provides a 5 year warranty upgradeable to 10 or 12 years for an additional charge anytime within the initial warranty period.

Power-One Aurora 6kW Outdoor - spec sheet  (their 3.6kW, 4.2kW & 5kW inverters are very similar to this).
Power-One Full product range - specifications (12.5MB)

All of these inverters have an integrated LCD display panel allowing you to see energy produced and other parameters.  Additional components such as remote wireless display units (which can sit on you desk) can be purchased in addition to our standard kits  - see Monitoring Systems below.

Array Cabling -

Because we do not use sub-contractors, we have control over all aspects of the installation including the quality of the array cabling, which is why we have chosen to use Radox125 Solar Cable .

We also have precision tooling to fit genuine MC3 and MC4 connectors to our array cabling, allowing direct connection to the factory fitted leads of the PV modules - we have no additional screwed connections (as other installers do) between the array and the switchgear which improves the reliability of our installations.

Radox125 Solar Cable is high temperature, ozone and UV resistant cable specifically designed for use in PV systems and has a life up to 8 times longer than XLPE/Rubber cables, and up to 32 times longer than PVC cables in these high temperature situations.

The insulation of inferior cables used by others in PV installations has shown to be dangerously degraded in as little as 7 years, which is why quality, high temperature cabling should be of prime importance for both safety and reliability.

Contact Us if you require special lengths of Radox125 Solar Cable fitted with MC3 or MC4 connectors (we can make them to your exact lengths).

Monitoring Systems -

For greater ability to log and view performance SMA have a wireless device called the Sunnybeam (shown at right).  This is one of the most convenient methods of data capture and display, and has drivers for PC interconnection via USB for windows 2000 and XP.

SMA also have other Monitoring Systems available depending on your requirements.

Aurora inverters also have a wired or wireless desktop data-logging display device with a 3.5 inch colour tft touch screen - more info.

Power-One inverters come with onboard RS485 communication and a neat viewing program (Windows based) which can be easily connected to your PC via an RS485 to USB adaptor (sold seperately - pictured to right).
